Favorite Songs of January 2016

It can get pretty damn hard to find someone who has the same taste in music, and from time to time I find myself feeling frustrated when I come across an awesome song and can't share it with anyone. To be honest, whenever someone recommends a song to me, I'm usually quite unimpressed. I can't explain what exactly makes me hooked onto a particular track, but what I can say is that I really don't have a specific preference and I'll sometimes end up liking the most unlikely and unexpected songs. Which is why I'm reluctant to recommend my favorites to anyone, because I'm pretty sure I won't get the reaction I would like. That being said, if I can't find anyone to recommend my songs to, I might as well recommend it to no one in particular. I think it would also be a pretty good idea to keep track of what songs I'm obsessed with, in a particular period of my life. I find that upon hearing old favorites, I'm able to associate them with a particula

Vietnamese Rice Paper Rolls

I invited an American friend to sleep over on the weekend, and for dinner decided to prepare Vietnamese spring rolls. I'm not even sure if Vietnamese people eat it the way we did; it's probably a very Koreanized version, but I'm Korean, what can I say? Anyway, it was the first proper major meal that we prepared since we moved in last month, both for guests or for ourselves, and so my mom and I made a huge deal out of it. And naturally, due to the magnitude of the occasion (for me at least) I had decided to document it. I'm definitely not good enough of a cook to be posting any recipes, any these rolls are, in my opinion, one of the easiest foods to make. The ingredients to prepare are whatever you want to put in your rolls, so in my case: ground beef, eggs, mushrooms, peppers, onion, carrot, sprouts, and 맛살 ( matsal , fake crab meat, I have no idea what you call it in English).

Goguan Hanbok Studio in Myeongdong

Here's a fun date idea for friends, family, lovers, just about anyone! I heard about this hanbok studio from my best friend, who had wanted to go for years, and made the reservations to take her for her birthday. The staff can all speak Chinese and probably English too since it's a big tourist attraction, so foreigners are more than welcome. :D There are two types of photos you can take at this place: professional studio photos and regular selfies - you can even borrow selfie sticks from the counter, how considerate is that?! The third floor is full of different sets and props that go well with the hanbok - traditional Korean dress - and cheesy fake background sounds to make the experience more authentic... like roosters crowing and peasants working and stuff. -_-
