This recipe was first introduced on a TV show called 맛있는 녀석들 (Tasty Guys), which is basically a bunch of people getting together and eating, eating, eating. They introduce different dishes and the yummiest way to eat them, etc. etc. and one episode featured foods you can get at the convenience store.
Here are the ingredients you need to make budaejjigae. I should note that some ingredients can only be bought at GS25, and not at other Korean convenience stores.
Step One
Slice up the sausage and toss it in, along with the ramen soup and the little kimchi packet that comes with.
Step Two
Add hot water and microwave for 3 minutes.
Step Three
Add cheese and additional toppings.
And that's IT.
Considering the dumplings, cheese, and rice were split between four people, the rough price of this "meal" is only around 5,000 KRW (and 1,000 calories, but don't think about that). Plus, it's SUPER filling and totally satisfying. Cheesy, savory, spicy, hearty, everything. Man, I'm salivating again and I only had this yesterday for lunch!!!
Once the noodles were nearly gone I added a bit of rice, because for Koreans, no meal is complete without rice.
And I know the picture might look a little messy and not so appetizing, but you're not allowed to judge before you try it for yourself. Because it's just fucking amazing.
